I listened to a podcast that made a football 🏈 analogy I could relate to. The host talked about how traditional cancer treatments (e.g. chemo, surgery, radiation etc.) play the offensive side of a cancer-fighting team, attacking cancer from the outside. Integrative/complementary medicine helps the body play defense by building up its internal strength through, diet, exercise, and other lifestyle adjustments. And lastly, special teams is played by the person themselves - their mindset, attitude, determination, and willingness to do what needs to be done. 

Why am I telling you this?  We had our first meeting with an integrative specialist yesterday (our new defensive coordinator😁). He filled our brains with tons of new, eye-opening information, insights, and practical things we can start right away to adjust our defensive game plan. We’re excited to implement these strategies. Some may be more challenging than others. To our praying friends, this is another area to continue covering in prayer.😉

So now we’re staring to play all three phases of the game. We just completed  another offensive play: chemo treatment #3 (cycle 1, Day 15) It went as well as the others. We are expanding our defensive playbook by adding in more diet, home, and lifestyle adjustments. And as far as special teams - Jessica is continuing to play like an absolute all-pro! I couldn’t be more proud of her
