A "Normal" Week and What Comes Next.

This week was... well... sort of... normal.
Okay, not normal like normal used to be. But at least it felt a little closer. I went back to working all five days, and we didn't have to hang out with nurses this week (who were so great, by the way!).
There's still extra time spent on food prep, tracking down the right groceries, and Jessica filling her pill box with what feels like an innumerable number of vitamins and supplements. Oh, and she still has to deal with "Dr. Aaron" giving her mistletoe injections. Β
Now we're in a waiting period, which, as we all know, can be one of the hardest parts.

Now we're in a waiting period, which, as we all know, can be one of the hardest parts.
It's the time when your mind likes to wander into places you'd rather not go. So we're doing our best to focus our hearts and minds on peace, rest, gratitude, and joy.
That was made a little easier this week as we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary! π (Yay, us! β€οΈ)
Thanks to my parents and the help of a wonderful friend, we were able to sneak away for a date night (see photos above. or below. or wherever they appear for you π). It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, enjoy some delicious, local food, and take in some beautiful scenery. (The sunflowers were pretty too. ππ»)
Next on the doctoring front, Jessica has a follow-up MRI on Monday, and then we'll meet with her (our) oncologist and surgeon to hear the results of the chemo and their recommendations for next steps.
For our praying people - this time spent waiting can be a little nerve-racking. Please pray for faith and patience while we wait, peace to overpower worry and anxiety, strength to conquer whatever comes next, and for every cell in Jessica's body to return to full health and fall in line with God's perfect will.Β
As always, we love and truly appreciate your prayers, comments, messages, and words of encouragement as we continue on.Β
Jessica shared a verse from a devotional this week that really hit home for us: In Psalm 31, As David was in a difficult season that seemed unbearable, he wrote, "But I trust in you, Lord; I say "You are my God." My times are in your hands."
That's exactly where we're choosing to leave things this week.
He's got this.
