Jessica is done with Chemo!! 🎉

She made it! And she did it amazingly well, in my humble opinion. 

We didn't know what to expect heading into this, but what I didn't expect is to experience so little. So little impact from side effects. So little heaviness. So little drag on her body, mind, and spirit. Sure, it had its moments, but overall it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

As the old saying goes, "Nothing can prepare you for this." That is true - more than I can express. And yet, somehow we were prepared. Or at least we knew where to turn. 

We quickly grabbed our shield of faith and strapped on our belt of truth - knowing that God was not surprised by any of this, had already given us a reference book with tons of cheat codes, and had a plan we couldn't even see yet. We did our best to wield our spiritual sword, fit our feet with readiness, and, with our chins up, marched (probably more like stumbled) into a battle we knew nothing about, knowing that God had our back.

I'm sure we looked a little ragtag as far as warriors go, but hey, we were new to this fight. 

And through it all, Jessica's attitude, determination, and faith have inspired me every single day. She has handled twelve weeks of chemo with more strength, grace, and resilience than I could have imagined.

And now that chemo is behind us, we have a short wait until we find out the results and what the next steps are. Until then, we will continue to keep our weapons sharp and tighten our bootstraps. Our shield will never leave our side, remembering who is carrying us through this.

Yes, yes, yes, I'm being hyper spiritual. But honestly, that's who we are. Sorry, not sorry. 

Thank you once again to every single person who has prayed, sent a text, made a meal, offered encouragement, given a hug, shared a post, or supported us financially. You have truly been a reminder of God's love and faithfulness, and we are more grateful than words can express.
