I went into Jade’s appointment feeling like something might be off… every pain, every ache is so scary when you are dealing with cancer. Jade has been having some pain in her side (around her spleen). When the doctor checked her today she said her spleen felt normal and she thought the pain was probably more related to digestive issues. After labs getting lost for hours … and then found… we left after getting her CBC back because blood work looked good and no blood products were needed. However, on the drive home her CMP posted. Her liver enzymes are extremely elevated. We know chemo does this and they are expected to be somewhat elevated… However, the were much higher than they’ve ever been. It breaks my heart how hard this treatment plan is on her little body. She is being pumped full of toxins to keep the cancer from coming back. Her practitioner decided to run a few extra tests and is having us come back on Monday to get some more blood work done. Please pray that things somewhat level out and that her ALT and AST get closer to a normal range. The normal range for ALT is 0-35 and her level is 698. The normal level for AST is 0-37 and she is 313.
