Gianna's Journey
As we prepare to return to All Kids Are Perfect in NC next week for our first of two intensives I went back to look at videos of Gianna’s very first intensive. January 2024 - the twins were 15 months old. Jaxson was walking and we were working on newborn tummy time with Gianna, rolling and really any control of her body. Gianna spent her days mostly lying flat on her back barely able to move or engage with toys, her twin brother or anything. Hope was almost nonexistent for what she would be able to do. As I watched my twins in glaringly different places, my heart broke with literally every second of every day.
Gianna has fought against everything including her own body to be where she is today. For most, watching a 3 year old crawl or climb on a couch is ridiculous but for us, we know what it took to get here and absolutely none of it has been easy in any sense.
As we embark on 2 weeks of intensives, we are all so excited and filled with hope for all she will accomplish and can not wait! We were able to add 1 hour a day of occupational therapy to week one and we are very happy about that. For week 1, she will do 2 hours of DMI/PT and 1 hour of OT daily.
