Gianna's Journey
This week was a big week. We secured a one week DMI intensive at All Kids Are Perfect in NC for April which will precede the free PA intensive that we were selected for. I really wanted to do a 3 week intensive in NC and do both a PT and OT intensive but I’m hopeful we will be able to get back there soon. They are offering an add on for red light therapy that is supposed to help the brain that looks like it is promising. There of course is an additional fee for this and we also need to secure lodging for the 2 weeks so we have a bit more planning to do to get everything ironed out.
We also saw an excellent pediatric rehab doctor at NYU that fully assessed G’s body and progress. Before leaving we were able to walk right upstairs for a hip xray and then downstairs to get casted for new orthotics to give her proper support to foster independent walking and help her gait. I am so impressed by how productive that appointment was!
Lastly, this evening we were guests at a foundation dinner for The Fidelians who have been generous supporters of Gianna and our family. We are overwhelmed by the warmth and support that was shown to us this evening. It is always so overwhelming how much people can show love for Gianna, truly see the journey we are on for both it’s hard and beautiful parts and extend a hand to help us along. We spoke of our faith in God and the power of prayer as others shared their journey and it reminded me to share that I do believe in miracles because Jaxson & Gianna are miracles!
