Gianna's Journey
We are home! We cut the second half of our trip short and came home midway through week 2 because the kids had colds and quite honestly, the therapy provided at the second place in PA was not anywhere near what I thought it would be. That being said, Gianna had a great first week at All Kids Are Perfect and we hope to get back down there for a longer 2-3 week intensive soon. I already see such an improvement in strength, balance, muscle activation and overall motor planning. This was our third intensive there but the first one where we added OT and it was a great success, I would definitely do it again because she quickly learned important fine motor adjustments.
Unfortunately, we made the decision to cancel Monday’s much needed and long awaited tonsil and adenoid surgery due to this illness. I just didn't feel comfortable putting her under anesthesia and intubation so close to an upper respiratory infection.
.
All in all we saw incredible progress in Gianna and know that this therapy is truly what she needs so we want to remind everyone that fundraising is ongoing so that we can continue to provide Gianna with these intensives! As for me, Frank and Grandma…..we are exhausted from loading and unloading everything but the kitchen sink from the car 3x each and wrangling toddlers in new places. I’m happy to be home, to be with the big kids who I miss dearly when we are on these adventures and to have the little ones back in their own home and into their routine.
As always, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has helped us to be able to provide Gianna all of these opportunities to succeed. We are forever grateful for your continued prayers and support!
