Starting Consolidation

Emmy Lou
In the last 2 weeks Emmy has had many great days—time with friends, play dates, camping, lots of fun memories made. We did our best to take advantage of the time she was feeling weIl—it was a welcome break from treatment for the whole family. Today she started consolidation which is another intense phase of treatment. We will be driving to Medford and back every day mon-fri or mon-thurs for the next several weeks. Every day this week she will receive Nelarabine, a chemo that is used specifically to treat T-cell ALL. It is shown to be an important part of her treatment, but it also will bring her counts down and she will likely start feeling crumby again soon. Praying that she handles this phase well, that her body continues to respond to treatment, and for our family to have the endurance to support her and each other through another cycle of chemo. Thank you for your support, prayers, meals, and friendships. The physical and emotional load of childhood cancer is made a little lighter when we have people walking alongside us. 🧡🎗️
