Now that we’re back home. Emmett is a GRAD of his first KAMP! Emmett started off his 3 week intensive not pushing through his arm at all, or able to move himself into the sitting position. Dr. Matt and Jamie,PT, worked together and made a plan for Emmett’s progress, which was unique for him. By the middle of week two Emmett pushed himself all the way up from laying on his side to side sitting holding with his right arm! By the end of the intensive with guidance Emmett was in the crawling position! We are beyond happy with the process he made with strength. Emmett also was able the regulate his emotions in sessions to allow for this progress.

On other part of our experience I want to make sure and share is the family focused approach and community connections made with the support of the team at Kinactive. Our daughter was welcomed as well with open arms to meet and make friends with the other children in therapy or siblings of other KAMPERS. This was extremely important for us and for her, especially being cross country from home. The Kinactive team hosted a happy hour while we were there, which allowed families to connect and learn about each other and what resources worked for them. The happy hour allowed us parents to visit, support and give advice as everyone was in different stages of there journey.

None of the experience or strength would have been possible without the amazing @walkingwith_cora  foundation. From our accommodations to the therapy the whole experience was incredible. Our family would have never been able to have this experience if it wasn’t for the Walking with Cora Christmas giveaway.
