Emmett went to NECO low vision clinic at Perkins school for the Blind this week to do the CVI protocol. We were able to find out more information able his sight. Just has a refresher, Emmett is diagnosed with Cortical Vision Impairment which means that his eyes themselves work but the brain has trouble processing the information.

At NECO, they conducted a lot of different test, with the optometrist and  a teacher for the visually impaired, we were able to find out that Emmett DOES have some vision!! Which is the best news we could have received. Emmett is able to see high contrast, and vibrant color, but might have a cut off looking up where he can not see. We are leaving that as a question right now as he is not able to tell us. He is also photo sensitive to bright light so we will be trying rose tinted glasses to help transitions.
These assessments and information allow us to start to help Emmett relearn his vision. We will be going back around next year to see his growth.
