Cody's Comeback
It feels like we blinked, and we're already preparing for Cody's 3rd round of immunotherapy (Dinutuximab) on August 13.
After that, we'll head into one of the biggest milestones of treatment so far. On September 1, Cody will have a CT scan, followed by his MIBG scan on September 2.
Many of you have asked why they're scanning him before he's finished treatment. The reason is to make sure the immunotherapy is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. These scans help his team evaluate how well the cancer is responding and determine whether there has been any progression while he's still actively receiving treatment.
Our biggest prayer is simple: NO new signs of cancer anywhere. π
Our greatest hope? That the few remaining lymph nodes with minimal disease are either completely gone or no longer active on the MIBG scan. That would be an incredible answer to prayer.
As many of you know, we'll be asking for a week of intentional prayer leading up to these scans, just like we always do. We have watched God move in ways we never could have imagined, and we're believing He is not finished writing Cody's story.
The last week has been such a gift. It takes Cody about 10 days to recover after each round of Dinutuximab. He loses quite a bit of weight, is exhausted, and his little body has to work incredibly hard to bounce back.
But this week? He's been feeling so good.
He's playing. He's laughing. He's getting stronger. He even got his first haircut! He's acting more like himself. And every one of those moments feels like a reminder that his body is fighting, and that he is beating this cancer one day at a time.
We continue to praise a very gracious God who has carried our family through every mountain and every valley. We are filled with hope, grateful for an incredible medical team, and beyond thankful for every single one of you who continues to pray, encourage us, and walk alongside our family.
Thank you for loving our sweet boy so well. β€οΈ
