Update and 2nd GOLF OUTING!!!

A little update on our sweet Cody ❤️

A few days ago, we ended up in the PICU unexpectedly after I happened to peek in on Cody before bed and noticed he was working really hard to breathe. I checked his oxygen, and it was only 84%.

We immediately rushed him to Riley Downtown, and because his oncologist called ahead, an entire team was waiting for him when we arrived. They knew he needed oxygen immediately, and we are SO incredibly thankful for the swift action and amazing care he received. 🙏🏼

One thing to remember about Cody is that his lungs have always taken the bulk of the inflammation during treatment. When his body is under the stress of certain treatments, his lungs seem to be where that inflammation settles.  He needed high flow oxygen because he wasn't improving enough on a regular nasal cannula or with treatments, which at Riley means a trip to the PICU. It was definitely scary.

BUT…if there is one thing you know about Cody, it's that this kid BOUNCES BACK. 💙

By noon the very next day, he was completely weaned off oxygen. We were able to go home the following morning. Just like that. This boy continues to amaze us. 🥹. Because of this little detour, his immunotherapy was delayed by one week. We will now head back in on August 20th for his next treatment.

We are throwing a BIG fundraiser and GOLF OUTING FOR CODY on OCTOBER 8TH!

This one is especially meaningful because we are celebrating Cody, his life, his incredible fight, the miracle that he is, and what we are praying will be his LAST TREATMENT! 🙏🏼💙
