Jamieson Family Health Journey
Friends, thank you so much for our love, prayers and support!
These last two weeks have been focused on health appointments (for all three of us), adjusting our vision for the next few months, and organizing life and work in preparation for what is ahead. Mixed in with that, there was more illness (Larry’s turn with Norovirus, a respiratory bug for all of us).
There has also been rest and connection for me with our daughter Erin who lives in San Diego. The trip was planned when only God knew how valuable and timely the adventure would be. Larry held down the fort at home while I soaked in cherished conversations with Erin and a view into her new world (she moved last July), wonderful sunshine, fun shopping, favorite restaurants, brunch with a long-time family friend and dinner with my niece.
While I was out of town, the surgeon’s office called to reschedule our consult with him to March 10th. We understand he wants to see the PET scan results before a surgical plan is determined, but it is still a disappointing delay.
As planned, I had the PET scan yesterday. MyChart results confirm there is no metastatic disease and the tumor is well-differentiated. It also suggests I would be a good candidate for targeted post-operative therapy (which might not even be needed). We are greatly relieved and thankful for God’s these huge mercies.
We have been eager to express appreciation to all of you who have volunteered to lend a hand. Honestly, it’s very humbling and a bit bewildering to consider ways people might be of help. Our daughter Alex is going to help identify specific “work days” to simplify coordination of volunteers and she’ll be communicating more about those details soon. Thank you for your patience while Larry and I try to get our ducks in a row so Alex has the info she needs from us.
Please pray:
- Dr. Sparkman and Dr. Zylla to be guided by the Holy Spirit in a clear and effective treatment path
- Safety, health, productivity and peace through Larry’s work trip this week (March 1-4)
- Quality information and wise decisions from appointments (genetics 3/2, primary care 3/3, mammogram 3/4, surgeon consult, 3/10)
- Surgery date that aligns with wise and effective timing while also favorable, as much as possible, to upcoming travel (ministry conference and family wedding)
- Together we lean into “the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.” (2 Cor. 1:3,4)
We greatly appreciate all of you!
