We are so thankful to finally share that Calvin has received his new medications and we are already starting to see improvements. Praise God! 🙌

Calvin is currently taking Kuvan and carbidopa/levodopa, which are being used to help support and improve his dopamine and serotonin levels. Over the past weeks, we’ve noticed encouraging improvements. Calvin is tracking better, has more energy, improved head control, longer awake windows, and is making more intentional movements. We’re seeing sweet, settled smiles, and it truly feels like his personality is starting to come through, possibly even letting us know what he likes and doesn’t like. He’s giving kisses ( when HE wants to), petting the dog, and when we move him, it feels like he’s trying to hold on. These moments may seem small, but to us they are HUGE. 

We’ve made the decision to take a break from outpatient therapy for now and fully focus on Early Steps, which is Louisiana’s in-home therapy program (available until age 3). Calvin is currently receiving 10–11 therapies a week through Early Steps, and it’s been a great fit for where he is right now.

Looking ahead, we plan to do another intensive in a few months and begin innovative suit therapy in February. One of our big goals is to save enough to have Calvin evaluated at NeuroSolutions in Austin with Dr. Crawford and to purchase his red light therapy.
