We’re so grateful to share that we had a wonderful Christmas and were able to attend 5 of the 6 family gatherings! Calvin stayed healthy through all of the visits, which is a huge win for our family!

On December 23rd, Calvin saw Dr. Harch. He isn’t a candidate at this time for hyperbaric oxygen therapy due to being ventilator-dependent, but he is a candidate for normobaric oxygen therapy. The great news is we can complete this therapy in the comfort of our own home. We’ve started the recommended oxygen therapy and have already noticed some encouraging improvements. 

We also received spinal tap results showing three chemicals that impact serotonin and dopamine are very low. Since November, we’ve been navigating insurance, physicians, pharmacy, denials, approvals, reversals, and prescription changes. Today we finally received hopeful news: one prescription will be filled Friday, and the other is restarting the prior authorization process with the new year. We are so excited to start these medications! They are expected to improve his mood, alertness and overall neurological function.
