Well, we have finally begun! We have three days of radiation and one chemo treatment behind us! He is feeling pretty good all things considered. He only had a slight reaction (itching) with the chemo so they just gave him Benadryl, took a break and slowed the treatment down. Once they restarted it, he had no issues at all.
He has been really tired and feeling rundown with no energy, but has been able to eat, very little nausea and had a little energy to go to the gym today which they have encouraged. He is definitely feeling the radiation treatments in his throat and is feeling a little sunburned on his skin. It’s a lot to keep up with all the medications, mouth rinses, and exercises , but that is his full-time job now and he is doing great at it! He is planning on preaching tomorrow and then he will be taking a four month break to focus on treatment and healing.
A few weeks ago when he went to get his radiation mask created, he was joking with them and made a comment about it looking like the hulk. When he showed up for his first treatment, this is what his mask looked like! What an absolutely incredible thing for her to do!
Here is a video about the amazing human who creates these and her heart behind it.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. If I may add our oldest daughter Heather to that request of continue prayers… She is facing surgery on October 5. I just ask that you hold her in the light and keep her in your prayers. I will share more about her journey as soon as I can. Our family is facing so much right now… So thankful we are not alone❤️
