Branson Update – August 18
Branson continues to be stable, but he has not woken up yet. Today, he was able to breathe mostly on his own for about 45 minutes with only minimal support from the ventilator, which is encouraging. He is still being medicated and continues to need time for his body and brain to rest.
Branson has multiple fractures from the accident. He has what is called a flail chest on his left side, where several ribs are broken and his lung was collapsed, along with multiple broken ribs on the upper right side. The drainage from his chest tube is slowing down, which is a positive sign.
His culture did come back showing pneumonia, so antibiotics are being started to treat it.
For the most part, today was uneventful, which right now we are grateful for. He looks peaceful and appears to be resting.
Please continue to pray for Branson — for healing throughout his body and brain, for the pneumonia to clear quickly, and most of all for him to continue moving toward waking up. ❤️
