Zeke's Journey
So many wonderful things are happening at Ability right now. It’s truly mind blowing. I can literally SEE God strengthening this sweet boy.
Zeke had a lot of fun playing with Suds both yesterday and today. They both motivate each other so it’s great for their heart - and for their treatment! And today, Zane got to participate in playing with Zeke and Suds. As a matter of fact, Suds is teaching Zane sign language. It warms my heart to see these 3 boys communicating in their own ways - and enjoying each other.
Tally is a huge blessing. She seems to really read Zeke well and knows when to push him and when to pull back. She has really been focusing on his hamstrings these past 2 days, and we continue to see lengthening.
Today, Zeke made it VERY clear to Tally that he wanted to stand. So she got this new stander/walker so she could meet his goals and desires and he BLEW OUR MINDS. He did really well in it. Of course, this particular equipment is not covered by insurance. Sigh. Will you pray that if this is necessary for Zeke to have to continue to progress that He would make a clear way for us to have it?
He continues to gain control over his arms and even his fingers. This is very exciting for him - and us!
If you e been following our journey for awhile, you know this is the week that I usually have an emotional day. Today is the day friends. So much is happening - wonderful, incredible things. But I’m just exhausted emotionally.
Will you pray for me and Jon tonight? Jon, as he is diligently working on his work projects while still being the rock he is for our family. And for me to be refreshed and renewed for the rest of treatment?
When you’re in the middle, it’s easy to lose sight of Jesus and His Majesty and His hand. We are so hard on Peter, but I find I often experience what Peter did when he walked on water. I’m in wonder of who God is, what He has let me be a part of and then I’m overwhelmed with fear as I see how big the waves really are. The middle is tough.
This week, I’m really clinging to this old hymn:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
