Wood to make a porch/roof for RV

The awning will not hold snow or rain, we spend a lot of time in boots digging, rain or shine, doing farm chores etc and we have no room to bring in our boots especially covered in mud and snow. We need a makeshift mud room if we're looking at 2 years in the RV.
