Abby is rallying families like yours this holiday season.
Abby Zachritz, a Gainesville mom of five whose son Wyatt survived a near-drowning in 2014, finds grants for families with a kid with a disability and is SupportNow's Director of Family Advocacy. Her storefront funds the costs grants do not reach in time.
“Every family here is in a stretch like that, where the bill comes before the help does. A lot of what is on these lists is something I have sat at my own kitchen table trying to figure out. Pick one. Cover it.”

In April 2014 our son Wyatt, 18 months old, fell into our pool. He was gone about forty minutes before they got him back. I was pregnant with our fifth. That first Christmas I learned what a brain injury costs, and how little of it is covered.
I have spent the years since finding money for other families: grants, equipment, therapies, the van. I am good at it. But a grant takes three to six months, and the copay, the gas and the December power bill are due now.

The costs that only show up because of a hard season.
Not the power bill. The things that make caring easier, with a real amount next to each one so supporters know what covers it.
