It’s Friday! 💙

Weston was supposed to begin his two-week therapy intensive this past week, but his OT was sick, so we had to postpone until this coming Monday. While I was disappointed we couldn’t start, it actually worked out well because Weston had been fighting some congestion and had several rough nights of sleep.

With congestion usually comes more pulmonary therapy at home—using several of his respiratory machines and keeping an even closer watch on his breathing and airway. One night in particular was especially difficult because he was going in and out of seizures.

We’ve seen an increase in Weston’s seizure activity over the past several months. We’ve known since birth that because of some of the structural differences in his brain, he is more prone to seizures. He takes seizure medication every day and had gone quite a while without dealing with them, so this recent increase has brought a lot of questions. We’re constantly wondering if there is a trigger or something more we should be doing.

Because of this, we’ve made an appointment with a seizure clinic in Nashville to get another opinion and hopefully more specialized guidance—especially on how to best care for him when seizures happen at home. Watching your child have a seizure is terrifying, and with them happening more frequently, we feel like it’s time to seek additional direction.

We would really appreciate prayer over this—for wisdom, answers, God’s guidance, and continued strength and endurance. Weston also still does not sleep through the night and really hasn’t since he was born. Sleep, feeding, and the possibility of a feeding tube down the road are all things we continue to pray through and seek wisdom about.

Through all of this, we are SO thankful that Weston gets to begin another therapy intensive on Monday! 🙌🏻 Four days a week of therapy for two weeks is definitely intense for all of us, but we have so much hope going into it.

We pray that God uses these intensives, along with the knowledge and care of Weston’s therapists, to continue moving him forward—building strength, stability, endurance, and that important brain/body connection. Every little step matters. 💙

Thank you for continuing to follow Weston’s journey, pray for him, encourage us, and cheer him on. We are so grateful to have so many people walking alongside our family. God is writing Weston’s story, and we are thankful to get to watch it unfold one day at a time. 🙏🏻
