Kicking a$$...
Wayne & Kelsey Ritscher
Mom/Kelsey and Dad/Wayne spent a lot of time in Iowa City last week for final testing and prep to begin treatment. Things went well, with one curve ball. Mom/Kelsey won't be participating in the clinical trial that included the iron and vitamin C infusions. I feel like the clinical trial offered an added layer of hope to the standard treatment plan, so that news was a little dissappointing, but we also know that the trial parameters and guidelines are there for good reason. With that, we continue to trust in the plan and find peace in God's presence.
Radiation and oral chemotherapy officially began on Wednesday, 5/15. Radiation will occur each weekday in Iowa City until 6/26. As long as Mom/Kelsey remains strong enough, she will be able to commute back and forth from home for this treatment each day. Mom/Kelsey shares updates with Ellie and me/Lacey re her trips to Iowa City, and she says it's "quick" and she "kicked some a$$".
We continue to feel everyone's support by way of text, comments, flowers, meals, gift cards and more...you all are so unbelievably generous and kind. THANK YOU so, so, so much!!
And lastly, the updates you're really here for ;) ...kitten Dan is doing great. He's made himself very at home with Mom/Kelsey in the sunroom on the farm.
