This last week I had my second chemo infusion, which was preceded by lab work and an oncology appointment. The lab work revealed some great improvement with my liver enzymes, some moving within almost normal range. Upon diagnoses, my enzymes were off the charts high. To say I was elated is an understatement. I cried. I silently thanked all of you, I cried again, I silently held it together and felt such immense relief. This was good news. This IS good news. The tumor in my breast FEELS smaller. I feel that this chemo is working. I know it is.Β

Chemo day was much of the same, with a little excitement as I had an allergic reaction to one of my premeds. The infusion nurses hustled to treat me and counteract the reaction, very thankful for the team of nurses with me at that moment.Β

This week has also brought me to terms with the fact that I will lose all of my hair. The cold capping isn’t working. I will lose my hair but I will not lose my spirit. And I look pretty badass in my wigs. πŸ€—

I have felt good this week with some slight fatigue, but havingΒ  my dear friend visit from New York and having our daughter Katie home for a few days has made my heart so full.

I’ve also continued to get outside and walk every day. It has become one of my favorite ways to start the morning, getting some fresh air, clearing my head, and reminding myself of just how much there still is to be grateful for.

This week, I’m choosing to celebrate the good news. To celebrate progress. To celebrate the people who continue to lift me up. And to celebrate the fact that, even in the middle of something I never asked for, there is still so much good.

Thank you for continuing to follow along, check in, cheer me on, pray for me, send me love, and carry a little bit of this with me.
