Tim Cantey
Yesterday, May 12, Tim and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. This is one of the milestones Tim has set to reach and hopefully will surpass them all. We celebrated with a delicious dinner in downtown Montgomery but the real celebration will happen in mid August. When Tim had his first seizure on Feb 1, 2025 we were three days from leaving for Europe. Disappointing but God has perfect timing. My limited vocabulary of "bonjour and croissant" would not have gotten us very far in an emergency situation. Sooooo after getting approval from the head of neuro oncology to travel abroad Tim and I will be celebrating 25.3 years in Greece and Turkey.
We have begun to get back to a more normal schedule. Tim has graduated from speech. He still has a little difficulty finding the right word and his pronouns are still a little off (last night's waiter gave me a quick side-eye glance when Tim referred to me as "he"). This is most evident when Tim gets tired later in the day. It would help tons if he would slow down; life in general and his speech.
We are so thankful for Tim's current good health. He is able to work full time, he loves his job at TCU and constantly desires to do great work for them. Tim is an elder at our church and still tries to serve in all ways that he is capable. And he serves our family so well as he has spent the last year attempting to get all things in order while still living life with us.
Thanks to all who remind us how they pray for us. Please keep praying. The Lord hears our prayers, Isaiah 65:24 Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. Please pray that the Lord would completely remove all cancer cells, especially those hidden in the brain tissue. That Tim would regain ALL of his words (and pronouns). And that He would sustain Tim's health especially through August so we can enjoy our special vacation.
P.S. See picture #3. Isn't he dreamy?
