Day 15

Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there! I had a fabulous visit from all 3 of my beautiful girls and my sweet fur baby Millie, too!

Chloe flew home from Washington state for a long weekend and spent the night with me on Saturday which was so great! For those who don’t know, Chloe is a “yachtie” – she works on a wonderful couple’s private yacht based out of San Diego and is one of a crew of 11. When she heads back on Tuesday they’re heading to Alaska- I wish this type of thing was around when I her age!

It was so nice to be able to get outside a couple times this past week and enjoy the MN weather. I’ve been managing work from my hospital room which has helped me keep my time and mind occupied. I still have my hair and keep hearing that the 3rd week is when I would start losing it, so stay tuned! Paula has retired to the corner of my room just in case I need IV fluids or anything. She has been a trooper! :)

I am officially neutropenic which means my blood numbers are bottoming out and I am more at risk for infection and illness, so I have to wear a N95 mask whenever I leave my hospital room.  One positive in it all is that I feel that I am in the right place and my health is a priority to my care team. Mayo is simply amazing!

I had an MRI on Friday night and the results show that the Leukemia is still active in my face. I still don’t have a date on when I can head home, but I’m hoping it’s before month’s end.  My second round of chemo is scheduled to start June 3rd, so I am looking forward to squeezing in a few days at home before starting the second round!  I have been told I won’t have to stay here as long for future chemo treatments - which is a relief!

Once again, so many thanks for all the continued love, support, text messages, phone calls, cards, etc.!  You have no idea how much it means to the girls and me!

Now back to kicking cancer’s a$$!

Love to y’all!
