Hello from Elly's Mom, Kathy...
As Elly let you know last week, she came down with a bad cold and had to miss a chemo session. That was so frustrating for her as now she has to stretch treatments out for yet another week. Thankfully she was better enough by the weekend that she and Alex did get to celebrate their anniversary! Thank you to those who prayed for that. With all the upheaval in their lives, a quiet time away was definitely appreciated.
After skipping last week, we were right back at it again today. Elly is still coughing a little but her Dr agreed it was best to continue. She has been on an antibiotic and is allowed to take some vitamins after a couple days.
She is still trying hard to prevent neuropathy in her hands and feet, which is a known side effect of Taxol. But even a heated blanket doesn’t warm the chill from the ice packs on her hands and feet. One hour later there is still frost on the outside of the mitt!
Today’s meds hit her like a ton of bricks. The first infusions gave her a painful headache, and by the end of the day, she was just totally exhausted.
One more down for our Warrior. Please continue to pray for strength to endure. Your encouragement means so much.
