A little update on Tomβs Johns Hopkins team because we feel incredibly blessed with the doctors who have been put in his path.
Today Tom meets with Dr. Victoria Croog, a Johns Hopkins radiation oncologist who specializes in brain cancer and tumors of the central nervous system and is part of the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Brain Tumor Center team. Dr. Croog graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed both her internship and radiation oncology residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is board-certified in radiation oncology, has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals, presented research at major oncology conferences, and has been repeatedly named a Washingtonian Top Doctor. She also serves on important hospital committees involving cancer care, research and radiation safety.
On Friday Tom meets with Dr. Solmaz Sahebjam, who is not only a neuro-oncologist but the Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program for Johns Hopkins in the National Capital Region and Deputy Director of Clinical Research. She is an Associate Professor of Oncology at Johns Hopkins and specializes in primary and metastatic brain tumors and the development of new cancer treatments. Her extensive training includes McGill University and a neuro-oncology fellowship at the University of Toronto/Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She has led and participated in numerous clinical trials and currently serves as principal investigator on a Johns Hopkins clinical trial for recurrent glioblastoma. Her honors include the National Cancer Institute Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award, an ASCO/Conquer Cancer Career Development Award, and service on the Board of Directors of the Society for Neuro-Oncology. We know the road ahead is difficult, but seeing the caliber of the team surrounding Tom gives us tremendous comfort and hope. πβ€οΈ -Kim
