Today, Dad and Mom are headed to the Johns Hopkins Washington, D.C. location for his first appointment, and my little sister Angela is driving them. We found out they will NOT need to go to the Baltimore, MD location.

Please pray that they have a smooth, easy, and comfortable drive and that Dad does well with the travel today.

Dad will have a second Johns Hopkins appointment later this week, and my older sister Taryn will be driving Dad and Mom to that one. Between these two appointments, Dad will complete his initial consultation and meet with oncology as his Johns Hopkins care team begins putting together the plan for his treatment moving forward.

To God be the glory that Dad was able to get into Johns Hopkins so quickly and be surrounded by such an incredible care team.
These appointments came fast and furious, and we could not be more grateful for that blessing.

We’re also hoping that Dad’s staples may be able to come out during one of his Johns Hopkins appointments this week. If not, he will head back down to Virginia Beach on Monday, August 24th to have them removed. So that part is still TBD! I know Dad is VERY ready to say goodbye to those staples.
A special thank you to everyone who signed up for the meal train and has been so flexible as these appointments came together so quickly. We had to make a few adjustments to the schedule, and I reached out via email to the few people whose meal dates were impacted. The meal scheduled is updated already and has six spots open if you're able to help! Thank you so much for understanding and working with us as Dad’s schedule continues to evolve.
My parents truly enjoy and appreciate every meal and every donation, but most of all, every single prayer is what really counts. Knowing how many people are lifting Dad and our family up in prayer means more than we could ever adequately put into words.
Please keep Dad, Mom, Angela, and Taryn in your prayers this week especially for safe and comfortable travel for Dad, encouraging conversations with his doctors, wisdom and clarity for his medical team, and continued strength, healing, and peace for Dad.

We are taking this one appointment, one day, and one prayer at a time, trusting that God is already ahead of us in every room Dad walks into.
