61 days. Uriel has been detained for 61 days. It’s hard to believe that two months have passed and we still find ourselves in the same situation... fighting for his release and trying to survive. Rosa shared on her personal page that herself and the kids were able to video chat with Uriel recently. His glasses are broken and being held together with tape. He looks thinner. We can’t imagine what he is going through during this detainment. We hold onto our faith in God that he will remain safe and okay. Our lawyer informed us that we may hear back this week from the judge about a habeas petition we filed in Texas court a few weeks ago. Our prayer is that Uriel would be immediately released and we ask you to join us in prayer for that. His preliminary removal hearing for March 31st still stands but that could change depending on the judge’s ruling. Once we hear back, we will share an update when we can. Rosa and the kids remain in need of your support. My sister is working non-stop every day to make sure the children are okay while also navigating all the demands and tasks that come with fighting for Uriel’s release.
