Wilder drank 3 mls of milk today from his bottle and seemed to enjoy it. Praise the Lord! I had talked with his team this morning at rounds and told them I didn’t think he liked the breastmilk/formula combo. He would take the bottle and then make the worst face when he took a drink of it and then refuse it. They agreed to let him try up to 10 mls of plain skimmed breast milk with no formula added. This will allow him to practice his bottle skills while he is still on his special low-fat diet. He went up to 50 mls for his feeds today and if he continues to tolerate that we’ll be able to move to 60 mls tomorrow and that is almost a full feed! He was also able to come off of one of heart medications today that was supporting his heart function. These are all good steps forward. Yay Wilder. We are also thankful for the move to our big room with an amazing view of the sunset!
Prayer requests:
-that his body continues to tolerate full feeds with no complications
-continued progress with his bottle feeding skills
