Wilder had a successful first day of feeds. The xray showed no air in the bowels and so we will start a very slow progression with feeds. Yesterday he got 10 mls for all his feeds. Today he will get 20 mls and slowly work his way up to full feeds. Right now all of his feeds are through his ng tube and are a mixture of breastmilk and dairy free formula. We attempted a bottle feed yesterday and he was uninterested, so we will keep trying.
His main goals right now are to work up to full feeds, start taking 50% of his feeds by a bottle, and wean off of medications and IV nutrition.
-Prayers for feeds to continue to go well and that he’ll start showing more interest in bottle feeds again
-Prayers for continued healing and no future complications
-Prayers for strength for me and Jesse. With each week that passes with Wilder in the hospital, we both get more exhausted.
