The good news is after a second x-ray they have ruled out pneumatosis. Pneumatosis is the complication he had after surgery last time where he had blood in his stools and air his bowel walls. We are very thankful that the doctors do not think there is a concern for this at this time.
They think there’s a chance that the blood in his stool this time is a side effect of the blood thinner he is on. They are going to restart him on feeds. He has not eaten since 6 AM yesterday, so when he is awake, he is quite fussy and hungry. After they restart feeds, we will be here for a couple of days while they monitor him. If all goes well, it will be a short stay and a quick discharge.
Thank you for your prayers! We ask for your continued prayers for his healing and for a smooth restarting of his feeds.
