Crazy 5 Days...

In the past 5 days Asa started back on chemo, got glasses, had a neurology appointment, had 2 days of nausea and bone pain, and got a cold (no fever though, PTL!).

Austin took Asa to his appointment today. Here are the highlights and prayer requests from this visit:
  • Next week Asa will get a chemo infusion which will be the last one in this current phase of treatment.
  • After that he will have 1 week off treatment for his body to recover.
  • The day before Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, he will have a bone marrow biopsy. The results of that biopsy will determine the course of his future treatment.
  • Right now he has no leukemia cells in his blood (that is expected at this point). The biopsy will tell us if the marrow is still making the leukemia cells and how much. Because he has the Philadelphia chromosome, we were told he is at a higher risk of needing a bone marrow transplant one day.

Your continued prayers, notes, and acts of service have meant so much to us. One day I hope to have the time to write thank you cards and hug each of you who have been loving and supporting our family through this.

Romans 15:16
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Thank you for sharing - continuing to pray for healing for precious Asa and emotional and physical strength and stamina in the coming days. Isaiah 41:10 is my prayer for you!

Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look around you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God has each one of you!!

No, my Dear. Your thank you here is enough. Do not burden yourself with such trivial tasks as writing thank you notes! You are walking through a major Storm and the Body of Christ is responding! It is a beautiful thing! And having been on the receiving end of this Cancer Storm, I understand your desire to write notes and personally thank each person bc you truly feel so blessed. But, the real blessing for us is to be able to be of service in Jesus’ name to you & your family. The fact that you gratefully & graciously receive our help is plenty thank you enough!!!
Love you all so very much!

Oh, Asa looks so cute in his glasses. Reminds me of my great grandchildren.
Praying for all your requests. Glad his body will get a little rest from the chemo.
