Austin took Asa to his appointment yesterday and Asa's numbers were high enough to move forward with treatment! They started him right away on fluids in preparation to receive his chemo and moved him upstairs to an infusion room. His total infusion time yesterday was over 5 hours of fluid, chemo, more fluids, and finally another chemo called Cytarabine, which is the same medicine we will be giving him via leg injections over the next 3 days. In addition to all that, he is starting a new medicine to take at home via a pill that causes nausea.
This morning Asa woke up with a lot of leg/arm pain and throwing up. Once we got the nausea under control, he was able to calm down some, but the pain lasted most of the morning.Β
Praise:

Praise:
- Two weeks ago Asa's glasses broke and today we were able to get his new ones. He can see again...yay!
- That even while being neutropenic, Asa has not gotten sick and been able to spend the last couple of weeks being an active little boy.
Prayer:
- That Asa responds well to the new med and that the nausea side effect doesn't linger.
- For his leg and arm pain to be minimal.
- That sickness/infection stays far from his body.
