We’re at NYU emergency department. Andrew has had two seizures, caused by something in his brain that’s either a tumor, stroke/clot/bleed, or an infection. Everyone is assuming tumor. We won’t know until he can get an MRI, but he isn’t currently stable or alert enough to sit inside an MRI tube.
He is on a considerable amount of sedating medications to stop the seizures and help severe back pain. His back is fractured, clearly triggered by the first seizure and maybe due to a tumor sitting near or on the spine. Also need MRI for more info on what they can do about this, if anything.
We are waiting to confirm there are no more seizures coming and for Andrew to become more alert. Then we can determine whether he’ll be admitted to onc floor or neurology.
