The Stallard Family
This week is flying by. I can’t believe that in just three weeks we will be leaving for Boston.
A few days ago we reached our goal of $16,831 thanks to our family, friends, and community. It truly takes a team to reach goals like this, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us.
Some people have asked what the $16,831 will cover. This amount will help cover Devin’s pay for the entire month of April, our bills back at home for the month, lodging, a car rental, hospital parking, and meals while we are in Boston.
Unfortunately, Devin was not approved for FMLA, but he plans to speak with one of his higher-ups in the next few days to see if there are any other options.
We could also use some prayers regarding Abigail’s insurance. On Monday we found out that her Medicaid is currently inactive. I actually learned about it when Boston called while trying to get preauthorization for her surgery in April. I spoke with her case manager and will be following up again today because if Medicaid doesn’t cover their portion, we would have to pay for it out of pocket.
Tomorrow will be Abigail’s last day of school because she needs to stay healthy for the three weeks leading up to surgery. We’ll mostly be staying home so we can all stay well.
Yesterday I was also interviewed for a podcast called Moms Like Me. The host is the founder of SupportNow, and she is truly a wonderful woman who is making a positive difference for families going through difficult seasons.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. It means more to our family than we can express.
