The Stallard Family
And just like that, we are 6 days away from leaving for Boston.
This week has been a slower one, and I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve been able to get to the gym a few times, which has been good for me. Gunnar had his yearly speech evaluation, and we got great news—he no longer needs speech therapy! We are so proud of him.
Devin hasn’t had to work overtime this week, so he’s been getting home at a decent time. Because of that, we’ve been able to sit down and have dinner together as a family, which the kids and I have enjoyed.
A few days ago, the pilot who will be flying us out next Thursday reached out and let us know we need to meet him at the airport at 9 AM. Gunnar is especially excited—he loves airplanes and keeps asking how many more days are left until we get on the plane.
Last night during dinner, Gunnar asked why Abigail has to go to the “big hospital” in a few days. Devin explained as best as he could that Abigail needs surgery to help her breathe better—so she can breathe like him, through her nose and mouth. Gunnar has such a tender heart, and he gets upset when he thinks doctors are hurting Abigail, so we do our best to help him understand why all of this is necessary.
We also received some unexpected but really good news. Devin’s FMLA was denied, but his higher-up has allowed him to take the entire month off without losing his job. That is such a huge blessing.
I also created a new prayer sign-up to make it easier for those who want to support us in that way.
As we continue preparing for Boston, we ask that you keep Abigail and our family in your prayers. Every prayer means so much to us.
