The Stallard Family
We had a busy weekend doing things around the house, and we were blessed when someone donated to have our home deep-cleaned this past Saturday. It was such a gift, and now the house is clean and ready for when we return home from Boston.
Yesterday I got a call from Boston with more details about Abigail’s surgery day. We will have to be at the hospital at 6:00 AM, and her surgery is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM. They also let us know she will go to the PICU after surgery, which we expected. Her surgeon only has Abigail scheduled that day because it will be such a long and complex procedure.
We also found out that our small town will be hosting a 5K for Abigail at the beginning of May, which honestly surprised me. I know there are a lot of runners where we live, but it still means so much that people are willing to do something like this to support our family.
Abigail has an appointment this morning with her general pediatrician here close to home, just to make sure everything looks good before we head to Boston.
This Saturday, Abigail’s mini documentary will be shown at a film festival in Charlottesville, and I’m really excited about that. It gives people a chance to see a little glimpse into our daily life and everything Abigail goes through. Devin and I watched it for the first time a few days ago, and it is very well done, so I encourage anyone who can to come watch it.
I can’t believe we are only 15 days away from leaving for Boston. It feels like just a few weeks ago Abigail’s home nurse and I were talking about how it was still three months away, and now we are less than a month out.
Please continue to pray for our family as we get closer to this surgery. We truly feel every prayer, and we are so thankful for all the love and support surrounding us.
