Day 14 update: Today has been a really long day. Gilbert is awake but he’s very weak. He’s very emotional and he’s very overwhelmed. 

He does appreciate all the love but he does not want any visitors right now while he heals. It is all a bit much for him, we appreciate the understanding. 

Please be patient as he navigates this journey on how to use his muscles again and regain the strength in his arms and legs. This is where the real challenge will lie. 

We love you all so much💜💪🏽

Please tell him to stay positive. It's so important. Please tell him his body will heal. Our family is 3 years past my granddaughter sustaning a severe traumatic brain injury. Her body has healed incredibly because our bodies are incredible. I know it is hard to see that right now but staying positive and pushing with all you have is so important. He will be back to doing what he loves quickly with those two things. He will gain strength daily with his effort. Don't let anyone tell him "CAN'T" We haven't with our granddaughter and it has brought her to an incredible healing
