The Sernovitz Family
"Oh, my God! Okay, it's happening! Everybody stay calm!” No one says it better than Michael Scott - I’m coming home tomorrow!! It’s been a crazy week of figuring out the lung inflammation, which tested negative for everything after a bronchoscopy, and then just squeezing in all of the last appointments this week and transitioning to having a doctor follow me at both Emory and MD Anderson.
I am still immunocompromised as I’m taking medicine to ensure I don’t experience complications from the new cells known as graft vs host disease, and I don’t have most vaccines yet but I did get a flu shot yesterday and can get my Covid and RSV shots when I get home! I’ll continue to socialize outdoors and I’ll still feel fatigued until I’m about a year out, but should be about 75% energy level at my 6 month mark in April.
I cannot wait to live with my family again and see friends and find my way back to a new normal. I am eternally grateful for everyone’s support and kind words.
