Day 2 update!

It’s hard to believe this much awaited BMT (bone marrow transplant) happened! I received my cells Wednesday around noon - three bags took a little over an hour. Everything was going well until I spiked a fever Wednesday night. At first it was just low grade and we thought maybe just body stress but then my bloodwork from my central line showed an infection. They removed the line today and I temporarily have 2 IVs for meds and fluids and should get a new line in a few days.

Unfortunately you can’t get fever reducers post transplant so I’m just riding it out with pain meds and cold washcloths. Hopefully my fever breaks and I’ll resume my walking and kicking cancer’s ass shortly!

Becky, you are a warrior woman, and we wish you all the success on your trek! Your attitude and drive are so inspirational and that will take you a long way in a positive direction. It’s unfortunate about the infection setback slide and hope you will be moving forward at a great pace soon! 💜
