Two Days until Transplant!

The time is almost here to get my bone marrow transplant! I’ll start with a little bit about what I know for Wednesday. It was basically look like a blood transfusion, just a bag of red blood products going on - no surgery or needles. I matched with an unrelated donor who is a 28 year old male. That’s all I know about him for about a year until I can reach out. The two hard parts coming up are my body continuing to react to the intense chemo from the past week and then ensuring that my body welcomes the donor cells and doesn’t try to reject them. I’ll get lots of preventative medicine to ensure that as best they can.

For now I’m dealing really only with fatigue, some mouth sores and lower appetite. They do expect that I might feel worse as the chemo side affects are still playing out, but as long as I take care of myself, walk, eat and drink I will see the other side of this soon!!

If you haven’t yet, please join me on my new public Instagram account! It gives me something to do and a way to hopefully help others just starting this journey. You can find me at 100daystronger.

Thinking of you Rebecca. Have strength in that everything is going to go will. When my mother was fighting cancer, she found will in thinking of us, her daughters and all she wanted to see us do. It’s been 36 years since and we just celebrated her 80th. I always know. You have a big heart so I’m sending you a big hug’m
