When the wait feels Too Long ❤️

Today I feel overwhelmed.

Hudson has been crying a lot. He wants so deeply to feel normal—to go to school, meet new friends, make memories, and do all the things other kids are doing. He feels like life is moving on without him, like all of his friends are starting a new chapter while he is stuck at home, waiting.

Honestly? I don’t blame him.

The waiting to be listed feels so long. Every day feels like another day of uncertainty, another day of watching my child wonder when his life will finally move forward. If I could give him my heart, I would. Without hesitation.

Some days, like today, I feel like all my efforts aren’t nearly enough. I can pray, advocate, make phone calls, tell his story, hold him when he cries—but I can’t take this pain away from him. And that is one of the hardest things a mother can bear.

I keep thinking about Hannah in the Bible. She knew what it was like to pray for something with her whole heart and then wait. Year after year, she carried her pain before God. She didn’t have the answers. She didn’t know when her prayer would be answered. But she kept bringing her broken heart to the Lord.

And maybe that is what I am being asked to do right now.

Not to understand the waiting.
Not to pretend it isn’t hard.
Not to have enough strength for tomorrow.

Just to bring today to God.

So today, I’m bringing Him Hudson’s tears. His disappointment. His longing to be a normal 11-year-old. I’m bringing Him my fear, my exhaustion, and the moments when I feel like I’m failing him.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

Lord, please hold my boy when I can’t fix this for him. Remind him that his life is not passing him by. Remind him that You are still writing his story—even in the waiting.

And please, God… let the next chapter come soon.

Hudson will have his first transplant visit on Wednesday the 27th. We are hoping to soon get actively listed on the waiting list short after.

My heart is right there with you and Hudson. I can only imagine trying to be fully present everyday both as a Mom and as a child. To wake up and “wait.” 😭 Praying the days go by quicker as the 27th approaches. God sees the both of you, and I’m praying that God will give Hudson a beautiful and brand new heart soon. Love you guys so much.
