A Season of Waiting, Praying, and Trusting God πŸ€πŸ™πŸ»

This morning, our transplant team met, and the board agreed to list Hudson for a heart transplant. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή While we are so grateful to have reached this step, there is still one more hurdle before we can officially celebrate. His approval is being sent back to insurance for authorization, and we are praying that by the end of next week, he will officially be listed and our wait time can begin. We are holding onto hope, trusting God’s timing, and praying for the miracle our boy so desperately needs.

Life has been especially heavy lately, and many of you have reached out asking about Allen. I believe there is freedom in being transparent about the hard seasons, too. God calls us to lean on Him, to ask for prayer when we need it, and to allow others to walk alongside us when life feels too heavy to carry alone.

β€œCast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” β€” 1 Peter 5:7

Between the kids’ health, Hudson’s transplant journey, Hannah’s ongoing medical needs, Allen’s health struggles, and now the loss of his job, our family has been navigating more than I can adequately put into words.

Allen is currently attending a 30-day Christian rehabilitation program. My prayer for him is that God will meet him right where he is, in the middle of his struggles, and that he will truly open his heart to the Lord. I pray that this time will be a turning point for him, a time of healing, surrender, growth, and genuine transformation. I pray that he finds the strength to face what he needs to face and allows God to work in the deepest parts of his heart.

The kids need their dad. And if I am being completely honest, so do I.

Our story has been complicated, and this season has brought a lot of hurt, uncertainty, and exhaustion. But even through all of it, I still pray for healing, restoration, and a future that looks different from the struggles we have faced. I know that only God can do the kind of heart work that lasts, and I am praying for that kind of change.

Being a full-time caregiver to two medically complex children while navigating everything else life has brought our way has been exhausting. With Allen still unemployed, so much of the responsibility falls on me. I am trying to be strong for the kids, keep up with appointments and medical decisions, manage the everyday demands of life, and somehow find the strength to keep moving forward.

Some days, I feel like I am running on nothing but faith and the prayers of the people carrying us through this season.

I don’t share these things for sympathy. I share them because this is our real life. There are beautiful moments, answered prayers, and glimpses of hope, but there are also days filled with fear, uncertainty, financial stress, and the kind of exhaustion that sleep alone cannot fix.

So today, I am asking for prayer.

Please pray for Hudson as we get closer to officially being listed for a heart transplant. Pray for the insurance approval to come through quickly, for his heart to remain stable, and for the right donor heart to find its way to him in God’s perfect timing.

Please pray for Hannah, too, as she continues navigating life after her own heart transplant. Pray for continued stability, protection, and good health.

And please pray for Allen. Pray that these 30 days will be meaningful, that he will encounter God in a way that changes him from the inside out, and that he will find healing, strength, and a renewed purpose.

Please also pray for me. Pray for provision, endurance, wisdom, and peace. Pray that I won’t lose myself in the responsibility of holding everything together. Even caregivers need someone to remind them that they don’t have to be strong every second of every day.

We are walking through a chapter we never would have chosen, but we are still here. Still praying. Still believing. Still trusting that God is working, even when we cannot see the whole picture.

If you feel led to support our family, pray for us, share our story, or help us with the practical needs that come with this journey, we are deeply grateful. Every prayer, message, share, and act of kindness reminds us that we are not walking this road alone.Β

Thank you for loving our family through the beautiful moments and the really hard ones. We have a long road ahead, but today we are choosing hope.

One step at a time. One prayer at a time. One day at a time. God, carry us through. πŸ€πŸ™πŸ»
