We’re taking this all one day at a time. Rocky had been moving in the right direction all week. He was weaning off his BiPap (oxygen support), seizures were well controlled and he was responding well to the antibiotic.

For some reason his seizures flared up Wednesday night and have continued until now. To be transparent - we feel discouraged.  We were moving forward in getting close to returning home but we have now taken some steps backwards. 

His increase in seizures have lead to respiratory distress. The rescue medications for his seizures also take a toll on his breathing - so we feel like we have lost a lot of the progress we previously made with his breathing.

We are now just trying to get his seizures back under control. We are running a respiratory panel for him to see if a new virus is causing his increase in seizures.

We finally got insurance to approve BiPap, cough assist and a new seizure medication to have at home. We are processing what our new normal might be and look like. These new additions to our “mini hospital”  help us provide the care and support he needs and we are very eager to get him home. Those that know him, he’s happiest at home so we hope he’ll improve in the comfort of home.
