Bella has been working on riding a bike since she was 4 years old.

At one point, doctors told us they didn’t think she would walk, talk, see, hear… or even develop things like humor or tell jokes.

And yet — here we are.

Last year, we honestly thought riding a bike might not happen. We finally gave in and bought a WeeRide on FB marketplace … but that same night, after realizing we were missing a piece to attach it, Bella asked if she could try one more time on a regular bike.

She took off. For the first time ever!

She pedaled fast and made it a couple hundred feet on her own.

We cheered. We high-fived her. It felt like such a big moment.

Since then, we’ve kept practicing little by little — working on pedaling, steering, and going longer distances. Balance has always been one of Bella’s biggest challenges.

But this week…

She mastered riding a bike on a straight path!

We’re still working on steering, but she is riding a bike!!

And even if it’s just a straight path — it matters so much.

Every time she learns something new, I’m in awe of her strength, her perseverance, and her determination.

We are so proud of her.
