The Moody Family
Today has been a day of recovery.
Liz got a good night's sleep last night, despite lots of interruptions to check on vitals, take lab samples, etc.
Yesterday evening she was in a lot of pain but managed to get out of bed to stand up a couple of times (doctor's orders) and then laid right back down. Today, she's progressed to being able to shuffle around the room and then take a walk around the hospital floor.
She's managing pain successfully, and has progressed from clear liquids last night, to a solid low-fiber diet. The biggest challenge has been learning how to care for her temporary ileostomy. It's no fun and there's a lot to learn, but she's doing great.
As long as things continue to go well, we're expecting she'll be discharged sometime tomorrow.
I brought the kids over for a brief hospital visit this evening. It was great to have the whole family together, though temporarily. The kids weren't sure what to think of the wires and IVs, and especially the ostomy bag--but were happy to see mom.
Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement. Love you all!
