The Moody Family
Liz came through surgery after about 4.5 hours. The surgeon tells us the surgery was a success with no complications and a good lower margin from the tumor. She has a temporary ostomy for at least the next two months while she heals.
Currently she's resting in her room and recovering from the effects of anesthesia.
They tell us she may be discharged as soon as tomorrow evening but will have to see how she does tonight and tomorrow morning.
In the next few days we hope to get pathology results on the tissue that was removed in surgery. They'll be checking lymph nodes for free-floating cancer cells that could travel elsewhere. Please pray there aren't any and the Stage I diagnosis is confirmed (which should mean no further chemo/etc. treatments).
Thank you for so many messages of love and support today. I spent a while this afternoon reading all of them to Liz. We feel so well-loved by all of you. Grace!
