This week we spent extra family time decorating for Christmas. Usually we wait until the week of thanksgiving, but our reality this year has Willow spending a lot of time inpatient throughout the month of December. December 2nd starts her first inpatient stay of the month, where she will be given high dose chemotherapy. This will repeat every two weeks for a total of 4 cycles. She will stays at the hospital until her body's able to clear the chemo. This means she could be in for 2 days or 5 days. We don't know and each stay will be different. Her doctors have also told us that you will most likely need inpatient visits in between doses, or a week of chemo hold (her body needing a longer break before the next cycle). So we put up Christmas, celebrat the holiday a little longer and enjoy the weeks we have of her feeling so good. Next time you see lights up early or Christmas in the store before Halloween, have a change of perspective that some family's, like us are grateful that we can shop before December. 💕
