The Manning Family
I write this on 11/24 the last day of blinatumomab. The last 28 days have been a breath of fresh air for our family, a sense of normalcy was given to us all. After tomorrow our life is back to being determined by Willows counts. We have enjoyed things the past month most take for granted like going to church, out to dinner, spontaneous trips to get ice cream and mostly our kids playing together. 12/3 starts a 56 day cycle called interem maintenance. Every other week ( so long as counts allow) Willow will be admitted to the hospital and given a high dose of 2 chemos. She will stay admitted untill her body is able to clear in. Her numbers are going to tank and her body is going to hurt. Most all parents dread this cycle, it is second worst of what she will receive. There is no way to prepare for what she going to be put through but we can pray. We pray at the end of this cycle she is still trying to eat, to play and has the ability to walk.
